Our hands down favourite Blendtec blender is the Blendtec TB-621-20 Total Classic Blender. This popular high-performance blender is an all-in-one demi-god for your kitchen.
It not only makes amazing smoothies, but mixes up bread dough, ice cream, nut butter, soup, salsas, crushes ice, and it’ll even grind coffee beans for you.
This top-of-the-line quality blender is comparable to a professional machine. For many smoothie fans a Blendtec, or its counterpart the Vitamix, are at the top of their wishlist – it’s pretty easy to see why – and the only thing holding them back is the price tag.
Might Be The Last Blender You Buy
Factor into your decision-making that with a quality and durable blender like this, it might just be the last one you ever have to buy. It’s not a cheap $50 model you going to have to replace every year or two when its motor seizes up.
Blendtec blenders, which are designed, manufactured and assembled in the US, are powerful, versatile, quick and efficient. The easy-to-use Total Blender series scores an impressive about 4.4 stars from more than 500 Amazon reviewers – it has lots of loyal fans.
It’s a stylish machine with a flat control panel featuring six pre-programmed blending cycles, plus two buttons that control speed and a pulse – they take the guess work out of timing. If you make a lot from scratch in the kitchen this is an awesome option.
Stands In For 9 Kitchen Appliances
Blendtec says this baby, which comes with a seven year warranty, can replace up to nine other appliances – with this on your bench you could probably ditch at the very least your:
Ice cream maker
It has the same motor and technology as a professional machine, and for smoothie worshippers it will blend whole fruit and veggies and ice with ease and power through leafy greens no trouble.
The Blendtec TB-621-20 Total Classic Blendercomes with a large and popular BPA free and dishwasher safe plastic pitcher – a new and popular design called the WildSide Jar, because it has five sides. It has a handle on one side and measurement lines on the front – and holds about 90-ounces, about 11cups. A two-pronged four-inch blade system is fused inside the bottom of the jar – no chance of leakage here.
There’s a two-piece rubber edged lid – you can add ingredients through the centre of the lid while you’re blending. After the machine has worked its magic the lid is easy to remove, you just pull up one of the four rubber corner flaps.
Six Pre-programmed Buttons Including One For Smoothies
The six pre-programmed cycle buttons, which sit on the control panel’s bottom row, including:
A dedicated 40-second smoothie cycle
A 45 second ice cream/frozen yoghurt cycle
A 35 second ice crush/milkshake cycle
A minute and half soups/syrups/fondues cycle
A 23 second sauces/dips/dressings/batters cycle
A 50 second whole juice cycle
On the row above are speed up and down buttons, with these you can manually control the blender and can choose from 10 speed settings. When a speed is selected it runs for 50 seconds and then switches off. The pulse button, on the top row right, is perfect for tasks like chopping, mincing and whipping.
An LCD screen on the front of the machine shows which blend cycle is in use, the time remaining and the number of times a blend cycle button has been pressed. There is no off button, you switch it off by pushing any button on the bottom row.
Quality Powerful Blender
The Total Classic has raving fans, who say it can handle anything thrown at it. Plus it’s a quality machine, durable, solid, powerful and fast and easy to clean. A few have issues with the machine rocking while it’s blending – there’s a lot of power at work there.
Remember this blender has a huge 1560-watt motor and it does make a fair amount of noise. This is one powerful blender and comparable to the professional models you see in your local cafés and restaurants – it’s going to to make noise. If that is really a problem for you there are after-market sound enclosures available on the Internet.
The Total Classic, which has a power on switch on the back of its motor base, stands 15 inches high – fitting nicely under your kitchen cupboards by 7 inches wide by 8 inches deep. It weighs seven pounds.
Theres a Range of Blendtec Accessories
Accessories include a much smaller Twister Jar, with spatula, which is designed to blend thick recipes (nut butters, hummus, thickshakes). There is a FourSide Jar, which holds about 64 ounces or eight cups, and has a smaller three inch blade. Plus you can get an additional WildSide Jar.
Blendtec also has a designer series, signature series, professional services and the 2400-watt Tom Dickson Extreme blender – with 25 pre-programmed cycles. Whoa there.
